RESOURCE SPECIALIST
ERC/ RESOURCE & REFERRAL
About the position…
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position, reporting to the Director of Referral Services. This position requires computer experience and good customer service skills. The scheduled work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Client Referrals: Assisting people who contact the agency by telephone, email, or in person by providing referrals to child care programs or other community resources to meet their needs
- Client Follow-Up: Contacting clients by telephone or email to determine whether services provided met their needs, and whether additional referrals are needed
- Provider Vacancy Updates: Contacting child care providers, by phone, to update their records showing vacancies
- Assist with bulk mailings (newsletters, flyers, etc.)
- Assist with preparation of copy for child care provider newsletter
- Other general clerical duties (filing, making copies, etc)
The ideal candidate for this position will:
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Have demonstrated computer skills
- Have effective time management skills and the ability to effectively balance multiple projects
- Have a positive attitude and be willing to work as a member of our team
- Enjoy working with people, by phone and in person
- Have a positive work history, including a good attendance record
- Have some knowledge of or experience with social service agencies, the child care industry, and/or working in a fast-paced office environment
Salary & benefits:
The typical starting salary range for this position is $10-$11.00 per hour, based on education and experience. ERC offers a generous benefit package which includes paid vacation and sick leave, cafeteria benefit plan, retirement plan, and group health insurance.
