Become a Volunteer
Volunteers are the key to much of our ongoing success! This past year, we estimate that 325 volunteers contributed their time and talent to Child Care Aware® of Northeast & North Central Kansas, providing more than 3,500 hours of service! Our volunteers, including those that work in the office, those that help with the Designers’ Showhouse, and those that serve year-round on committees make such a significant difference in what the agency is able to accomplish. Our dedicated Board of Directors is committed to ERC’s mission and purpose, and guides our way with governance and leadership.

Please consider serving on one of the following committees:
MEMBERSHIP: Responsibilities include evaluating existing membership solicitation methods and consider ways to broaden and enhance membership. Plan and oversee annual membership drive (August), Donor Recognition event (fall), and Membership Night at the Designers' Showhouse (April). Meets six times per year (February, April, June, August, October, December), typically on the 4th Thursday at noon.
PROGRAM: Responsibilities include helping to set goals and objectives for the year, developing and implementing workshops, seminars or special events including Annual Meeting, Early Childhood Provider Appreciation Day, and other special events and conferences. Meets six times per year (February, April, June, August, October, December), on 1st Wednesday at noon, or as scheduled.
PROMOTION: Responsible for developing a marketing and promotion strategy that raises community awareness of our services, including community outreach events and media opportunities. Meets six times per year (February, April, June, August, October, December), on 2nd Tuesday at noon, or as scheduled.
DESIGNERS' SHOWHOUSE (DSH) PROMOTION: Responsible for developing a marketing and promotion strategy that raises community awareness of our grass-roots fundraiser, the Designers' Showhouse. This includes planning and hosting a media event at the Showhoue, working closely with volunteers and staff to promote the Showhouse, and utilizing all available community outreach and media opportunities. Meets six times per year (November, January, February, March, April, and
June), on 4th Wednesday at noon, or as scheduled.
Committee meetings typically last one hour. Participation at otherChild Care Aware® of Northeast & North Central Kansas events is invited and encouraged, as schedules allow.
