ERC relies on the support of community volunteers to fulfill the agency’s mission:

ERC Resource & Referral provides customized child care referrals, professional development and resources for early childhood professionals, and referrals to community resources.

Caring, knowledgeable staff and volunteers provide high quality customer service. ERC supports individuals, children and families by connecting people with area programs and services, improving the quality of life in Kansas communities.

Can you join us?  We are currently recruiting   volunteers in these areas:

   General office volunteers at the Topeka or Lawrence, Kansas offices:

        General office volunteers help with a variety of tasks including making phone calls, assisting with mailings, computer data entry, labeling books, filing, and other general clerical work.  Some office volunteers help weekly (for example, every Wednesday morning or every Thursday afternoon).  Others call us when they have a day off from school or work and want to come in, or are on an “on call” list for special projects.

ERC Designers’ Showhouse volunteers:

        The ERC Designers’ Showhouse is a community event that takes place each spring in Topeka.  Over 300 volunteers help with this grass-roots fundraising project each year, when ERC partners with a local homeowner and area designers to decorate a home and open it for public tour.  Volunteers serve as docents, help in the dining room, work in the boutique, and assist with special events.  Shifts include daytime, evening, and/or weekend hours during the four-week period (mid –April to mid-May) that the Showhouse is open for public tour.
